On the 14th of September, the season opens with Cormac O Caoimh, a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter from Cork, returning to Limerick for the first time in a decade. Known for his intricate guitar work and emotive lyrics, O Caoimh has been hailed as a “masterful lyricist” by Hot Press and praised for his “exquisite guitar playing” (Irish Times). His return is eagerly anticipated by fans and promises to be a night of pure folk magic.
Joining O Caoimh is Rua Ri, another talent from Cork’s flourishing folk scene. Rua Ri’s performances are known for their haunting melodies and poetic storytelling. His work has been described as “achingly beautiful and refreshingly honest,” giving him a strong following across Ireland.
Rounding off the night is Meadhbh Hayes, Limerick’s adopted Cork native, adding her enchanting voice to the mix. Hayes’ performances are intimate and soulful, a perfect fit for the cozy, underground atmosphere of the Record Room.
