Shakalak bring their psychedelic alternative hip hop to Limerick for the first time, with support from local rapper Citrus Fresh.

Shakalak are a 5-piece Dublin-based psychedelic electronic/hiphop band who have built a dedicated cult following over the last number of years, coupling the lyrical dexterity of John Cummins with the musical talents of singer and bass player Fin Divilly, guitarist Johnny Jude, DJ and producer Sam Lynch (AKA Small Bear) and Saxophonist Padraig Dooney. They have performed headline shows in Dublin (Whelans, Workman’s Club, Button Factory), and many other venues and festivals around Ireland.

Their latest single 'Gimmy' was released in December 2024 with an animated video made by Californian artist Madeleine Schmidt. 2025 will see the release of their long awaited second album, with singles to be released throughout the year in the leadup to it, including psychedelic hip hop tracks such as Cake; and Chipper, a love-poem to its namesake.

Limerick local Citrus Fresh will be roaring sweet nothings into yer face with his producer and back up dancer 40Hurtz.
