Trad Folkin' Rocks presents Hugh Joseph Feely & Stephen O'Dowd
Hugh Joseph Feely:
Hailing from the North West of Ireland, Hugh Joseph Feely has been a significant presence in the Irish music scene. A former integral member of the acclaimed Rackhouse Pilfer, Hugh has performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Body & Soul, and La Roche Bluegrass Festival. In 2017, his song Lost In A Feeling was awarded Hot Press Magazine's "Song Of The Day", further cementing his reputation as a gifted songwriter. Hugh's solo work draws inspiration from both traditional and contemporary folk icons like Dick Gaughan, Nick Drake, Ryan Adams, and Townes Van Zandt. Known for his experimental approach to acoustic guitar using open tunings, he also incorporates the Irish Bouzouki and harmonica into his performances, creating a rich, textured soundscape.
Stephen O'Dowd:
Born and bred on the west coast of Ireland in the County of Sligo, Stephen has been brought up and encompassed with music. He is among the 4th generation of a musical family known for it's roots in Irish traditional music, notably his grandparents Joe and Sheila, father Seamie and brother Rory. Learning guitar in childhood to graduating from BIMM Dublin in 2021, Stephen has been immersed in a wide variety of music drawing inspiration namely from listening to Folk artists such as Thom Moore, Planxty, John Martyn etc.
Mythicising stories, encapsulating landscapes and depicting and creating characters his music leads you on a journey with 12/6 string guitar, harmonica, vocals and Irish traditional flair.

We are a not-for-profit organisation that champions the positive promotion of Traditional Irish Arts by devising creative ways to access and interact with audiences. We support Traditional Irish Artists and endeavour to create professional performance opportunities for them to exhibit their material and fine-tune their performances.
