Leon Stax is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Ireland. His sound a chassis of Soul music with the aesthetic and flavours of Jazz, Rock, Funk and Psychedelia.

With all of Leon's recorded material for this project thus far being written, arranged, recorded and mixed in his family home studio(an old converted barn) this is as home made as music gets.

Born 2nd youngest in a family of 10, Leon took influences from all genres from his older siblings and parents. This gave him an eclectic repertoire which he played far and wide and when time came to write his own music those styles were implemented with subtle craft and tasteful elaboration.

Leon's Live band The Leon Stax Equation is an act driven by funky drumming with a heavy downbeat, sweet, sometimes irreverent vocals and familiar yet original lyrics. It is music meant to make you feel something. Departing from the modern musical education of virtuosic execution it is perhaps unsurprising in its form, but never boring in its delivery.

In the studio a more atmospheric and hypnotic approach is taken with wide, warm pad sounds, analog and tape effects and a live recorded feel that picks up where the Soul and Rock classics of the 1960's left off.

The Leon Stax Equaiton's 2nd studio album 'Coloured in Full' will be released on all major streaming platforms on November 15th 2024
